Sivuch'i Rocks
Sivuch'i Rocks are a small, barren group of rocks and tiny islands in the eastern part of Uda Bay, in the western Sea of Okhotsk, Russia. They are part of the Shantar Islands in Khabarovsk Krai and lie just north of Medvezhy Island.
Two large islets are nearby, about 4 km apart. The northern islet rises about 232 m, and the southern about 171 m. A 79 m pillar rock sits just southwest of the southern islet. Reefs surround the group.
In the 19th century, American whalers visited the area to hunt bowhead whales and called the rocks Sugar Loaf Rocks or Pinnacle Rocks.
On October 11, 1858, the bark Ocean Wave, a 380-ton ship from New Bedford under Captain Hiram Baker, wrecked on one of the rocks during a gale and all hands were lost.
Population: 0.
