Jonathan Sandoval
Jonathan Alexis Sandoval Rojas, born 25 June 1987 in Montevideo, Uruguay, is a professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Graneros in Argentina’s Liga Tucumana de Fútbol.
Sandoval began his senior career with River Plate in Uruguay in 2006 and spent several seasons on loan to other clubs. He had a stint with Heredia in Guatemala, then played on loan for Sud América where he scored six goals in 13 appearances. He also spent time on loan with Cerro Largo and Rentistas.
In 2011 he joined Montevideo Wanderers, where he made 60 league appearances and scored eight goals over three seasons. He moved to Peñarol in 2013, followed by a short period with Liverpool in 2016.
Later in 2016, Sandoval joined Argentinos Juniors in Argentina. He helped the team win the 2016–17 Primera B Nacional, earning promotion to the Argentine Primera División, and he scored on his debut for Argentinos in a 2–2 draw with San Martín. He made his 200th career appearance in February 2018 in a 2–0 loss to Talleres.
In 2022 he was loaned to Colón, but his loan was cut short and he was then loaned to Atlético Tucumán later that year. After playing for Racing de Montevideo in 2023–2024, he moved to Graneros in 2024.
