Siege of Ti Bwar

The siege of Ti Bwar was a year-long clash in Ti Bwar, Chin State, Myanmar, during the ongoing civil war. Chin nationalist forces—Chin National Defence Force (CNDF), Mountain Eagle Defence Force (MEDF), and Chinland Defense Force (CDF)—fought against a junta outpost of the State Administration Council. The outpost housed about 34 soldiers.

November 2022 to November 2023

- 15 November 2022: Chin forces launched the assault with drones, dropping more than 300 bombs on the outpost. On the first day, eight junta soldiers were killed and two Chin fighters injured as four jet fighters carried out airstrikes.

- 16–17 November: The fighting continued. Reports say at least five junta soldiers were killed in a MI-35 attack lasting about 20 minutes. On 17 November, MEDF forces dropped bombs, reportedly killing six soldiers and wounding many; one Chin fighter was injured.

- 18 November: Four junta soldiers were killed and one CNDF fighter injured.

- 19 November: The junta installed a drone-jamming device, hindering insurgent attacks.

- 20 November: Chin forces said they ambushed and killed at least five soldiers near Bualte village; in retaliation the junta burned homes in Bualte.

- By late November, Chin claims put junta casualties at about 25 killed out of roughly 34 soldiers at the outpost, with many wounded. Four drones were reportedly lost on the insurgents’ side; the outpost remained under junta control due to airstrikes.

- 14–15 November 2023: In a renewed attack at night, Chin forces struck again and, by dawn on 15 November, overran the camp, set it ablaze, and captured a substantial amount of weapons and ammunition. About 29 soldiers fled to India, later repatriated to Myanmar a few days later.

Result: Chin victory.
