Men's 1500 metres – Short-track speed skating at the 2006 Winter Olympics
The event took place on February 12, 2006, at the Torino Palavela in Turin. There were 28 competitors from 16 nations. The medalists were: gold – Ahn Hyun-soo (South Korea), silver – Lee Ho-suk (South Korea), and bronze – Li Jiajun (China). No world or Olympic records were broken during the competition.
Format: In the first round, six heats of four or five skaters each determined who advanced. The top three from each heat moved to the semifinals. The semifinals consisted of three races with six skaters each. The top two finishers in each semifinal advanced to Final A (for medals), while the third and fourth place went to Final B. Final A decided the medals; Final B determined 6th–11th places.
