Shinya Yoshihara (吉原 慎也) is a former Japanese football goalkeeper, born April 19, 1978, in Hitachi, Ibaraki. He rose through a competitive high school program and became a respected young player in Japan.

His professional career began with Yokohama F. Marinos (1997–2001). He spent 1999–2000 on loan at Albirex Niigata, where he started the season opener and helped the team win seven straight matches. In 2001 he moved to Kawasaki Frontale, becoming their regular goalkeeper in 2003 and helping the club win promotion to J1. Frontale finished second in the J1 League in 2006, narrowly missing the title and earning a spot in the 2007 AFC Champions League.

In 2007 Yoshihara was loaned to Tokyo Verdy, where he helped stabilize the defense as the team recovered from a rough spell. He suffered a left knee ACL injury in July, missing the rest of the season, but Verdy still earned promotion to J1 that year. He returned to Kawasaki in 2008, though injuries and competition limited his playing time. In 2009 he was loaned to Júbilo Iwata, and in 2010 he joined Kashiwa Reysol. He retired on July 14, 2010. Across his career, he made 164 league appearances and scored no goals.

Yoshihara is married to Go prodigy Yukari Yoshihara (formerly Yukari Umezawa), who is known for teaching Go around the world, including in Hikaru no Go. He is fluent in Korean and has been connected with players like Lee Keun-ho and Jong Tae-se.

Honors: J.League Cup winner with Yokohama F. Marinos in 2001; Kawasaki Frontale finished as runners-up in the J1 League in 2006 and 2008.
