Raising Hope Season 2

The second season of the American TV show Raising Hope aired on Fox from September 20, 2011, to April 17, 2012, and includes 22 episodes. The show changed time slots during the season: it started in a Tuesday 9:30 pm slot to make room for New Girl, then moved to 8:00 pm in mid-season, with the last two episodes back in the 9:30 slot. Fox renewed Raising Hope for 22 episodes on January 10, 2011. At the start of this season, Cloris Leachman and Gregg Binkley were upgraded to series regulars. Episode four aired after The X Factor on October 5, 2011, at 9:30 pm, not in the usual slot. Production ended on February 16, 2012. On March 6, 2012, the show moved to 8:00 pm as part of a mid-season two-hour comedy block, though the final two episodes returned to 9:30 pm.

Key storylines and developments:
- Jimmy discovers he was a talented musician in his youth, but a golf putter accident left him seemingly talentless. To impress Sabrina and help Hope, he tries to regain his old abilities with help from Virginia, Burt, and Maw Maw.
- For Thanksgiving, The Chances and Sabrina borrow a house to wow Burt’s wealthy parents, but the real homeowners return, revealing how they actually live.
- A mockumentary-style episode features Nancy Grace investigating Hope’s mother, Lucy Carlisle, and Jimmy’s past with Lucy. The family learns shocking truths, including that Lucy survived execution, leading to a custody battle over Hope.
- Although the family temporarily loses custody, Lucy is killed by a tour bus while trying to kill Sabrina, and the Chance family ultimately gets Hope back.
