She Goes to War
She Goes to War is a 1929 American drama film directed by Henry King and starring Eleanor Boardman, John Holland, and Edmund Burns. It is a sound part-talkie, with some spoken dialogue, a synchronized musical score, and sound effects, plus English intertitles. The film used the RCA Photophone sound-on-film system. It runs 87 minutes and was produced by Inspiration Pictures and released by United Artists on June 8, 1929. The soundtrack features the theme song There Is A Happy Land (Far Far Away) with words by Joe Young and Sam M. Lewis and music by Harry Akst; other songs on the score include Wait For Me and Judy, by the same team. This release followed Boardman’s earlier success in The Crowd.
