Shatnerverse is the nickname fans use for a group of Star Trek novels mainly written by William Shatner, with Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens. Shatner came up with the idea during the filming of Star Trek Generations. Pocket Books published the books from 1995 to 2007. The stories follow Captain James T. Kirk after the events of Generations. They are not part of the official Star Trek canon; they exist as a separate, self-contained universe.

The books are organized into three unofficial trilogies, plus related titles:

- Odyssey (1995–1998): The Ashes of Eden; The Return; Avenger; Odyssey (omnibus). The name comes from an omnibus edition.

- Mirror Universe (1998–2000): Spectre; Dark Victory; Preserver. These are set in Star Trek’s Mirror Universe.

- Totality (2002–2006): Captain’s Peril; Captain’s Blood; Captain’s Glory. Often called the Captain Kirk trilogy.

Other related works include Collision Course (2007), which was linked to Starfleet Academy and ties into The Ashes of Eden; Forged in Fire (2007), connected to the Excelsior era; and The Ashes of Eden graphic novel (1995), adapted by DC Comics with Reeves-Stevens credited. Millennium (2000) is a related Deep Space Nine miniseries.

Because of its unofficial status, the Shatnerverse uses its own continuity separate from other Star Trek books, allowing fans to enjoy new adventures with Kirk outside the official canon.

Reception of the series is mixed. Some readers find the books goofy and self-indulgent but entertaining for fans of The Original Series. Others say the stories can be hard for casual readers to jump into, and some audiobook adaptations have received mixed reviews for character portrayals.
