Shane Carr
Shane Carr, whose Irish name is Seaghán Mac Giolla Chathair, is a former Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a defender for Four Masters and the Donegal county team. His inter-county debut came in 1998 in a game against Antrim. He was part of the Donegal panel in 1998 and 1999, returned in 2001, and stayed with the team until retiring in the spring of 2006. Carr left the panel after Eamon McGee moved ahead of him on the substitutes bench.
He started the first game of Brian McEniff’s last spell as Donegal manager, a league defeat to Galway in Tuam in February 2003. He also played in the 2003 All-Ireland Championship semi-final against Armagh. At club level, Carr won the Donegal Senior Football Championship with Four Masters in 2003, scoring three points in the final against Termon.
