Seoul Vibe
Seoul Vibe (Korean title: 서울대작전) is a 2022 South Korean action-comedy film directed by Moon Hyun-sung. It features an ensemble cast led by Yoo Ah-in, Ko Kyung-pyo, Park Ju-hyun, Lee Kyu-hyung, Ong Seong-wu, Moon So-ri, Kim Sung-kyun, and Song Min-ho. The movie was released on Netflix on August 26, 2022.
Plot
Set in the lead-up to the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, a group of street racers and mechanics led by Park Dong-wook get pulled into a dangerous scheme. They are blackmailed by prosecutor Ahn Pyung-wook to help expose a former government’s secret fund. To get close to the powerful Kang In-sook, they must pose as her drivers for a series of deliveries. As they carry out the jobs, police crackdowns tighten, loyalties are tested, and a secret room with ledgers is discovered. After a cascade of twists and betrayals, Dong-wook’s team confronts Kang and the corrupt officials. In the final actions, they manage to expose the scheme, and Dong-wook escapes with part of the money, planning a new life in Los Angeles, while Kang is arrested.
Production
- Announced in December 2020, with Andmarq Studio producing and Netflix distributing.
- Filming began in August 2021 in Eurwang-dong (Incheon) and Seoul.
- Production halted briefly in 2021 due to COVID-19 tests but resumed later that year.
