Seodongtan station

Seodongtan Station (Seodongtan-yeok) is a stop on Line 1 of the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. It serves Hwaseong and Osan in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The name means “West Dongtan,” referring to the Dongtan area; the station sits on the border, with most of it in Hwaseong and the postal address in Osan. Seodongtan opened on February 26, 2010, beside Byeongjeom Depot. It has one platform and two tracks and is above ground. The station is operated by Korail and mainly serves residents of Dongtan New Town. A future extension, the Dongtan–Indeogwon Line, will extend the Seodongtan branch to Dongtan station. In 2012, daily passengers were about 2,448. The next station on Line 1 toward Uijeongbu is Byeongjeom.
