Selçuk Yöntem, born Akif Selçuk Yöntem on 13 July 1953 in Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, is a Turkish actor and TV presenter. His mother was from Erzurum and his father from Sakarya. He graduated from Ankara State Conservatory in 1976 with a degree in theatre studies and began teaching there in 1977. On stage, he appeared in Aşağıdakiler (1994) and Gürültülü Patırtılı Bir Hikâye (1995), and directed a stage adaptation of Ay Işığında Şamata (1997–1998). He also worked with TRT Istanbul Radio presenting radio plays. In film and television, he won Best Supporting Actor for C Blok. He played Bozo in Deli Yürek and later Aslan Akbey in Kurtlar Vadisi (2003). His breakthrough came as Adnan Ziyagil in Aşk-ı Memnu (2008). He hosted about 400 episodes of Büyük Risk on Star TV and Show TV. In 2013 he joined ATV’s Bugünün Saraylısı as Ata Katipoğlu. In 2014 he hosted Kim Milyoner Olmak İster? after Kenan Işık suffered a stroke. He has been married twice, to Zuhal Olcay (1976–1979) and later Cihan Yöntem (married in 1987), and has one child.
