Joey Zalinsky is an American soccer defender born on January 3, 2003, in Brick Township, New Jersey. He played high school soccer at Brick Memorial and joined the New York Red Bulls academy in 2016. He then played college soccer for Rutgers University from 2021 to 2024, appearing in 59 games and scoring two goals.

Zalinsky began his professional career with New York Red Bulls II in 2020, making 17 appearances. He was drafted by St. Louis City SC in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft. During 2025, he went on loan to Indy Eleven for seven league appearances, returning to St. Louis City afterward. On November 25, 2025, St. Louis City SC declined his contract option, making him a free agent.
