Scott Medvin
Scott Howard Medvin, born September 16, 1961, in North Olmsted, Ohio, is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1988–1989) and Seattle Mariners (1990). A right-handed thrower and batter, Medvin debuted in the majors on May 9, 1988, with the Pirates and appeared in his last game on September 22, 1990, with the Mariners. His MLB career record is 3–2 with a 5.17 ERA and 21 strikeouts. He attended North Olmsted High School and Baldwin Wallace University, where he earned a management degree and was named All-Ohio Athletic Conference as a senior. He signed with the Detroit Tigers as an undrafted free agent in 1983 and moved through several trades before reaching the majors, including a 1987 deal that sent him to the Pirates for Rick Reuschel. He spent time in the minor leagues with the Buffalo Bisons, earning 12 saves in 1988 and 10 saves in 1989. After his MLB career, Medvin played in the Mexican League from 1991 to 1993 for teams such as Industriales de Monterrey and Saltillo.
