Schkuhria
Schkuhria is a small group of flowering plants in the daisy family (Asteraceae). It belongs to the Bahieae tribe and is native to the Americas, from the south-central United States down to Argentina. The common name for some species is false threadleaf. The genus was named in honor of Christian Schkuhr, a German gardener and scientist (1741–1811). There are two recognized species, but the type species Schkuhria abrotanoides is now treated as a synonym of Schkuhria pinnata, so most plants are identified as Schkuhria pinnata. The genus has several older names that are now considered synonyms, such as Chamaestephanum, Hopkirkia, Mieria, and Tetracarpum.
