Savage Lover is a 1979 disco hit by the American group The Ring. It was written and produced by Marcus Barone and Fausto Lucignani, who also co-produced the song. The track reached number 1 on Mexico’s pop charts for several weeks and number 7 in Argentina. In the United States, it reached number 14 on the dance charts. The Ring disbanded in 1981, but Savage Lover stayed popular in the US and Mexico through the 1980s. Vanguard released the single in 1979, and it appeared on The Ring’s debut album in 1981. The song was mixed by Ray "Pinky" Velazquez.
