Sardar Ali Haqqani (1970–2022), also known as Tawajju Ustaad, was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and political figure from the Nowshera area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He was born in 1970 in Maini, Swabi District, and studied at Darul Uloom Jamia Muhammadiyah Matta Mughalkhel and later at Darul Uloom Haqqania, where he specialized in Hadith. He served as the Amir for the Nowshera District of Aalmi Majlis Tahaffuz Khatm-e-Nubuwwat and was known for bold Pashto speeches on social media.
In 2018, he ran for PK-63 as a joint candidate of the Pakistan Rah-e-Haq Party and Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat Nowshera, but received about 1,113 votes and lost to PTI candidate Mian Jamshed Uddin Kakakhel. He faced legal troubles, being arrested on April 28, 2021, for provocative speeches against doctors and nurses, and in June 2021 for allegedly inciting violence against Malala Yousafzai. On February 3, 2022, there was a failed assassination attempt in Swabi during which he was injured. Sardar Ali Haqqani died in a traffic accident on May 7, 2022, on Kohat Road near Dara Adamkhel; his bodyguards and driver were injured.
