2019 South American Footballer of the Year
The 2019 South American Footballer of the Year, known in Spanish as Rey del Fútbol de América, was awarded to Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa of Flamengo on December 31, 2019. The prize is given by the Uruguayan newspaper El País and is decided by journalists across the continent. It is part of the El Mejor de América (The Best of America) awards, which also honor the South American Coach of the Year and the Best XI, the best eleven players at their positions.
Marcelo Gallardo of River Plate was named Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year.
