Ryan D. Duffy is an American psychology professor at the University of Florida. He is known for his work in vocational psychology, including creating the Psychology of Working Theory (PWT) and the Work as a Calling Theory (WCT). His research looks at how personal, structural, and economic barriers affect career choices and how positive psychology ideas relate to seeing work as a calling. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Vocational Behavior.

Duffy earned a B.A. from Boston College in 2004, an M.A. in 2006, and a Ph.D. in 2009 from the University of Maryland. He has taught at the University of Florida since 2009. He edited the Journal of Career Assessment until 2022, when he became Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Vocational Behavior.

Awards: In 2017 he received the Fritz and Linn Kuder Early Career Award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions from APA Division 17 (Counseling Psychology). He became a Fellow of the American Psychological Association in 2018. In 2020 he won the John Holland Award for Outstanding Achievement in Career or Personality Research from APA Division 17.
