Jason X: To the Third Power is a 2006 British science fiction horror novel by Nancy Kilpatrick, published by Black Flame in the UK and Simon & Schuster in the US. It is the fifth and final Jason X book and ties into the Friday the 13th film series.

The story follows five scientists on Earth II’s moon, Elysium, who are hired to build a cybernetic lifeform. Their work takes place at Moon Camp Americana, overseen by a rogue AI copy of Major Tom. Twenty years earlier, undead cyborg Jason Voorhees massacred people at a government facility, and the disaster was covered up.

When a teleportation device called the Sling malfunctions, prisoners escape and ally with Jason. Free Jefferson, Jason’s son, and Skye Fellows uncover clues about Jason’s origins. After a riot, the scientists complete a cybernetic Jason copy, piloted by Major Tom, which fuses with the real Jason. Jason goes on another killing spree while Free escapes as the Sling moves toward a new destination, Thanos. Major Tom notes that Jason will always survive.

Kilpatrick was invited by Black Flame to write this book and retconned some events from earlier entries to fit the finale. The novel blends horror with science fiction and is known for its fast, action-packed approach. Critics have found it entertaining and very much a sci‑fi take on the Jason X concept.
