Ruieni Hydroelectric Power Station
Ruieni Hydroelectric Power Station is a large power plant on the Sebeş River in Turnu Ruieni, Romania. It was built in the 1990s. The dam is a rockfill structure with a clay core, 125 meters high, creating the Ruieni reservoir. The reservoir holds about 96.2 million cubic meters of water (78,000 acre-feet) and covers 1 square kilometer. The plant has two vertical turbines and a total installed capacity of 153 MW, generating about 264 GWh of electricity each year.
