Rubroshorea inaequilateralis

Rubroshorea inaequilateralis is an endangered tree in the Dipterocarpaceae family, also known as red balau. It is endemic to Borneo, found in Brunei and Sarawak. It grows in peat swamp forests and can reach about 45 meters tall. The species is threatened by habitat loss. It was first described in 1935 as Shorea inaequilateralis by Colin Fraser Symington. In 2022 it was moved to the genus Rubroshorea, becoming Rubroshorea inaequilateralis. Synonyms include Shorea inaequilateralis Symington.
