Rouleur

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Rouleur is a racing cyclist who is strong over long distances and time trials. They can keep a high level of power for a long time but aren’t good at short, hard bursts and can’t match the speed of pure climbers in the mountains. Rouleurs excel on long efforts on flat terrain, such as solo breakaways and time trials. Notable rouleurs include Jacques Anquetil, Tony Martin, Fabian Cancellara, Sylvain Chavanel, Jens Voigt, Kasper Asgreen, Thomas De Gendt, Alessandro De Marchi, Steve Cummings, Rohan Dennis, Filippo Ganna and Alison Jackson. The British cycling magazine Rouleur takes its name from this term.
