Ross Munnelly
Ross Munnelly (born 23 December 1982) is an Irish Gaelic footballer from Portlaoise in County Laois. He plays for the Arles–Kilcruise club and spent most of his career with the Laois senior inter-county team, usually as a wing forward. He retired from inter-county football at the end of the 2022 season.
In 2003, Munnelly helped Laois win the Leinster Championship for the first time since 1946, and his club Arles–Kilcruise also won the Laois Senior Football Championship that year. He came through Laois’ minor and under-21 teams before joining the senior squad in 2003. He captained Laois in the 2005 Leinster final, which they lost to Dublin, and Laois defeated Derry in the All-Ireland Qualifiers before losing to Armagh in the quarter-finals.
Over his inter-county career, he made 79 appearances and scored 7-190. He represented Ireland in the International Rules Series against Australia in 2005 and 2013, with Ireland recording a big win in 2013. He was nominated for an All Stars Award in 2006 and travelled to Dubai in 2007 as a replacement.
