Providence Friars men's ice hockey
Providence Friars men's ice hockey is the NCAA Division I program for Providence College. They compete in Hockey East and play their home games at Schneider Arena in Providence, Rhode Island. The team is led by head coach Nate Leaman, who has been in charge since 2011.

Brief history
Providence began the program in 1927, paused for many years, and returned in 1952. The Friars rose through the ECAC, won their first conference title in 1964, and later joined Hockey East in 1984. The 2015 national championship remains the program’s highest peak, achieved under coach Nate Leaman. The Friars have a long tradition of competitive play and notable alumni and coaches who have influenced college hockey.
