Ronald Roberts (swimmer)
Ronald Roberts (11 December 1922 – 19 June 2012) was a British swimmer from Belton, Lincolnshire. He swam freestyle for Otter SC in London.
Roberts competed in two Olympic Games. In 1952 in Helsinki, he swam the 100 metres freestyle. In 1956 in Melbourne, he swam the 100 metres freestyle and was part of the freestyle relay team.
He also represented England at the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver, competing in freestyle and relay events.
Domestically, he won ASA National Championship titles in 1953 and 1955 for 110 yards freestyle, and the 1953 title for 220 yards freestyle.
Roberts passed away on 19 June 2012 at the age of 89.
