Roberto Silva (Peruvian footballer)
Roberto Enrique Silva Pro (born 1 June 1976 in Lima) is a retired Peruvian football forward. He spent most of his career playing in Peru, with stints at clubs such as Alianza Lima, Sporting Cristal, Cienciano, Universidad San Martín, Universidad Católica, and Sport Boys. He also played abroad, including six Bundesliga appearances for Werder Bremen in the 2001–02 season, plus time with Unión de Santa Fe in Argentina, San Luis in Mexico, Caracas FC on loan, and Delfines de Coatzacoalcos in Mexico. In total, Silva appeared in 335 club matches and scored 93 goals.
Internationally, Silva earned 11 caps and scored 2 goals for the Peru national team between 2001 and 2004.
He was involved in a controversial interview about homosexuality in football, which drew attention at the time.
Silva’s professional career lasted into the early 2010s, concluding after a long spell with various Peruvian clubs.
