Frayssinhes
Frayssinhes is a small rural commune in southwestern France, in the Lot department of the Occitanie region. It lies in a mountainous area and is part of the Dordogne river basin. The area is known for its natural heritage, including three protected zones for ecological, animal and plant life.
The commune covers about 112 square kilometers and sits at elevations from about 170 to 542 meters above sea level.
As of 2023, 169 people lived there. The inhabitants are called Frayssinhésiens (men) and Frayssinhésiennes (women). The population has fluctuated over time, peaking around 708 in 1851 and being around 165–170 in recent years.
Frayssinhes is part of the Biars-sur-Cère - Saint-Céré administrative area. The mayor for 2020–2026 is Claudine Vivarez.
