Rob Hollins is a fictional character from the BBC soap Doctors, played by Chris Walker. He first appeared on 24 July 2009 as a police sergeant at Letherbridge police station. Rob is the husband of Karen Hollins, a receptionist at the Mill Health Centre, and the father of Imogen and Jack. He is shown as a dependable, family‑oriented man who is always willing to help others.

Rob’s storylines include a dispute with Karen over having a baby, a breakup and eventual reconciliation, and a devastating incident where he accidentally hits Karen with his car, causing her to lose her memory. He and Karen later become foster parents to Ella and Tom Robson. Rob also forms a close, complicated bond with colleague Harriet Shelton, and he battles post‑traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a storyline that runs for years and is revisited in 2021.

The PTSD arc began in 2017–2018 and was designed to unfold over time, highlighting how Rob’s mental health affects his work and his relationship with Karen. A major moment occurs when Harriet frames Rob for a brutal assault; Rob is cleared, but the incident strains his marriage before they ultimately repair their relationship.

Rob and Karen’s on‑screen partnership earned awards, including Best On‑Screen Partnership at the 2010 British Soap Awards and again in 2023. Chris Walker received multiple acting nominations for his portrayal of Rob across various awards.

Rob’s last appearance was on 14 November 2024 in the episode “One Day Like This.” Throughout his time on Doctors, Rob is depicted as a loyal, capable officer who cares deeply for his family and always tries to do the right thing, even when it’s difficult.
