Rife (Foetus album)
Rife (Foetus album)
Rife is a live album by Foetus Corruptus that was released in 1989. It started as an official bootleg created by J. G. Thirlwell, with no formal record label credit at first. The album appeared in three formats: a two-LP black vinyl set, a two-LP picture-disc set, and a CD. The picture-disc version used the catalog numbers RIFLE 1 and RIFLEPIC 1.
Release and formats
- The original release was overseen by J. G. Thirlwell (also known as JG Thirlwell).
- Formats: two-LP black vinyl, two-LP picture disc, and CD.
- The picture disc copies are identified as RIFLEPIC 1 (and related variants in the picture-disc line).
Release history
- Jungle Records was authorized in 1988 to produce a limited edition of 2,000 copies across the three formats.
- In 1996 Jungle self-bootlegged an additional 500 unauthorized picture-disc copies.
- In 1998 Jungle licensed Rife to Invisible Records, which began producing more CDs (some releases may have been unauthorized).
