List of census-designated places in Oklahoma: Census-designated places (CDPs) are areas defined by the U.S. Census Bureau as densely populated places that are not inside an incorporated city or town. They have defined boundaries but no local government or legal status, and they exist for statistical purposes. CDPs were created in 1980 or later and do not replace existing communities. In Oklahoma, most CDPs are in the northeastern part of the state. Many CDPs are named after nearby communities, and where known, the related communities are noted. The information about these related communities comes mainly from Shirk's Oklahoma Place Names and the U.S. Geological Survey, as well as lists of unincorporated communities in Oklahoma.
