Richard Lee Groth (March 18, 1946 – May 29, 2021) was an American teacher, counselor, and Democratic politician from Iowa. He was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, to Chris and Florence Groth, and grew up there. Groth finished Alta Community High School in 1964, earned a BA in American government from Iowa State University in 1968, and a Master of Arts in guidance and counseling from the University of Northern Iowa in 1971. He worked as a teacher and guidance counselor before entering politics.

A Democrat, Groth was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 1978 and served until 1987. He represented District 6 from 1979 to 1983 and District 10 from 1983 to 1987. He married Susan Wilson in 1965, and they had two children. At his death in Des Moines on May 29, 2021, he was survived by his wife Patty.
