Toyota Material Handling, Inc. (TMH), also known as Toyota Forklift, is an American company that makes and sells forklifts and tow tractors. It is based in Columbus, Indiana, and serves North America. TMH is the North American arm of Toyota Industries Corporation and is the sole U.S. distributor for Aichi aerial work platforms, including scissor lifts and boom lifts. Equipment is sold through more than 200 Toyota Dealer Network locations in the U.S. and Canada.

TMH was formed in January 2020 by merging Toyota Material Handling U.S.A., Inc. and Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing. The company traces its roots to Toyota’s first lift truck in Japan in 1956 and its first U.S. forklift in 1967. Forklift production began in Columbus in 1990 at the TIEM facility, which helped build TMH’s manufacturing base. TMH has grown to be a leading lift truck supplier in North America, a position Toyota has held since 2002.

TMH offers a wide range of equipment, including three- and four-wheel electric forklifts, internal combustion and natural gas forklifts, pallet jacks, tow tractors, order pickers, container handlers, automated guided vehicles, and reach trucks. It also distributes Aichi aerial work platforms in North America and continues to manufacture many models at its Columbus facility.
