Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity & Innovation (MAPI) is a private, non-profit leadership network for manufacturing. Founded in 1933 and based in Arlington, Virginia, it provides benchmarking, professional development, and research. Members are executives from mid- to large-sized global manufacturers, including Caterpillar, Ingersoll-Rand, and Oshkosh. MAPI runs about 25 Councils that cover topics such as Finance, Operations, Strategy, Growth, Management, and Legal, with specialties like Internal Audit, Marketing, HR, Taxes, Product Liability, and Environmental Management. Councils are membership-based and combine roundtable discussions, best-practices case studies, and facilitated networking and benchmarking. Its research focuses on Economic Analyses and Forecasting, Legal and Regulatory commentary, and Benchmark Surveys. MAPI is frequently cited by major media as an authority on manufacturing issues. The organization’s offices are in Arlington, VA. Key leaders are Stephen Gold (President & CEO), Rae Ann Johnson (SVP & General Counsel), Dave Augliera (VP Membership), and Kristin Graybill (VP External Affairs). Fewer than 50 employees. It was formerly known as the Machinery and Allied Products Institute.
