Reg Plummer (rugby union)
Reg Plummer (Reginald Clifford Stanley Plummer; 29 December 1888 – 18 June 1953) was a Welsh international rugby union winger who played club rugby mainly for Newport, and also lined up for London Welsh, Crawshays RFC and Barbarian F.C. He earned five caps for Wales between 1912 and 1913 and scored two tries (six points).
Plummer made his Newport debut in 1905 at age 17 and later captained the club in the 1920/21 season. He played against touring sides with Newport, including the 1906 and 1912 South Africans and the 1910 Australians.
His Wales debut came on 3 February 1912 against Scotland at St Helens, a match Wales won 21–6 in which he scored a try. He added a second international try later in 1912 against France. In total, he played for Wales five times, facing England (1913), France (1912), Ireland (1912), Scotland (1912) and South Africa (1912). He was selected for the 1910 British Lions tour to South Africa, but did not appear in any test matches.
Outside rugby, Plummer worked as a hotelier. He was born in Newport, Monmouthshire, and died in Newport in 1953.
