Raashii Khanna
Raashii Khanna (born 30 November 1990) is an Indian actress who mainly acts in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films. She made her acting debut in a supporting role in the 2013 Hindi film Madras Cafe. Her Telugu breakthrough came with Oohalu Gusagusalade (2014), which earned her the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Telugu.
Since then, Khanna has starred in many popular films across languages. Notable Telugu and Tamil works include Bengal Tiger (2015), Supreme (2016), Jai Lava Kusa (2017), Tholi Prema (2018), Imaikkaa Nodigal (2018) and Adanga Maru (2018), Venky Mama (2019), Prati Roju Pandage (2019), Thiruchitrambalam (2022), Sardar (2022) and Aranmanai 4 (2024). She has also sung songs in multiple languages.
In Hindi, she appeared in the streaming series Rudra: The Edge of Darkness (2022) and Farzi (2023). Farzi received strong reviews and became widely watched.
Khanna was born in Delhi and studied at St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School, later earning a BA (Honours) in English from Lady Shri Ram College. She has described herself as a studious person who initially wanted to be a singer and later aspired to be an IAS officer; acting happened by chance.
Before films, she did copywriting for advertisements and appeared in various ads. Critics have praised her performances in several projects, helping her become one of the leading actresses in Telugu and Tamil cinema.
Off-screen, Khanna has supported charitable work, launching the #BeTheMiracle initiative to provide free meals and founding the NGO Roti Bank to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
