Boer, Netherlands
Boer is a small village in Waadhoeke, Friesland, in the Netherlands. It covers about 2.11 square kilometers and sits around 0.3 meters above sea level. In 2021 it had about 45 residents (around 48 in 2014). Until 2018 it was part of the Franekeradeel municipality; now it is in Waadhoeke. The village is first mentioned in 1402 as Burstera Rede, a name that means "farm house." The Dutch Reformed church there dates from around 1500, but its stones are partly hidden by a plaster layer to cover wear. In 1840 Boer had 93 residents.
