Location: Lewiston area, Idaho (about 42 miles south of Lewiston near Waha)
Causes and spread: A complex of wildfires started around 6:45 a.m. on July 7, believed to be sparked by lightning; it spread across parts of Idaho, Washington, and Oregon.
Size: 109,444 acres (44,290 hectares) burned.
Containment and end: 31% contained by July 17; 87% contained by August 2; fully contained by August 20.
Impact: No structures were destroyed.
