Rémy Désilets
Rémy Désilets (born 1952 in Drummondville, Quebec) is a Canadian politician and former member of the National Assembly of Quebec. He represented the riding of Maskinongé for the Parti Québécois from 1994 to 2003. An educator by training, he earned a BA in Physical Education (1976) and a Certificate in Sports Training (1978). He was first elected in 1994, succeeding Yvon Picotte, and was re-elected in 1998. From 2002 to 2003 he served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Health, Social Services, Youth Protection and Violence Prevention. He was defeated in 2003 by Liberal Francine Gaudet, and finished third in the 2007 election. In 2016 he was fined C$6,000 for an illegal campaign contribution.
