Quadrosilan is a synthetic estrogen developed in the 1970s. It is a nonsteroidal, organosilicon compound also known as 2,6-cisdiphenylhexamethylcyclotetrasiloxane. It has been used to treat prostate cancer by reducing the hormone signals that stimulate the cancer. It was sold under the brand name Cisobitan and was developed under the code KABI-1774. Because it acts like estrogen, Quadrosilan can cause feminizing side effects in men, such as breast growth (gynecomastia).
