Mercedes Pérez
Mercedes Isabel Pérez Tigreros (born August 7, 1987) is a Colombian weightlifter from Santa Marta. She competes in the 63 kg category, moving to the 64 kg category after the 2018 weight class changes by the International Weightlifting Federation. She is 1.57 meters tall and weighs about 64 kg.
Her personal bests, all set in 2019, are a snatch of 106 kg, a clean and jerk of 132 kg, and a total of 238 kg. Pérez has represented Colombia at many international events, including three Olympic Games: Beijing 2008 in the 63 kg class (she finished 8th after the original silver medalist was disqualified for doping), Rio 2016 in the 63 kg class (finishing 4th), and Tokyo 2020 in the 64 kg class. She has also competed at World Championships and Pan American events, earning medals in regional championships.
