Scutigerella hauserae
Scutigerella hauserae is a small, cave-dwelling arthropod in the group called symphylans. Classification: Kingdom Animalia; Phylum Arthropoda; Subphylum Myriapoda; Class Symphyla; Family Scutigerellidae; Genus Scutigerella; Species S. hauserae. It was described in 1990 by Swedish scientist Ulf Scheller. The species is known from Postojnska Jama, a cave system in Slovenia, and it has traits that suggest adaptations for life in dark, stable cave environments.
