Psilocybe Larvae
Psilocybe Larvae is a Russian melodic death/doom/progressive metal band from Saint Petersburg, formed in 1996 in Vyborg. The early lineup, led by Vitaly "Larv" Belobritsky, created the demo Liar and appeared on a Russian extreme music sampler before settling into a more stable group. They released their first full album, Stigmata, around 2000 (reissued on CD in 2001), followed by Agony in 2003. After further lineup changes and a move to St. Petersburg, the band released Non-existence in 2008, and The Labyrinth Of Penumbra in 2012, with each release earning them growing recognition in Russia and beyond.
Over the years they have toured and performed across Russia, Belarus, Poland, the Czech Republic, and at European festivals such as Hard Rock Laager in Estonia (2013). In 2021 they released Where Silence Dwells, with a vinyl edition in 2022, and in 2025 put out the Brave New World EP, featuring two new Russian-language songs alongside a re-recorded track from their past. The current lineup includes Vitaly Belobritsky, Alex Legotin, Anton Veresov and Alexander Yakovlev.
