Prigoria is a commune in Gorj County, Oltenia, Romania. It comprises seven villages: Bucșana, Burlani, Călugăreasa, Dobrana, Negoiești, Prigoria, and Zorlești. The area covers about 66.9 square kilometers and sits at around 314 meters above sea level. As of December 2021, the population was 2,709. The postal code is 217370, the area code is +40 253, and vehicles from the area use the GJ registration prefix. Prigoria is known in Romania as the place where the first COVID-19 case in the country was detected on February 26, 2020.
