Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus
The Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus is a Belarusian symphony orchestra based in Minsk. It was founded on August 6, 2002, and is one of Belarus’s three major symphonic orchestras. The group consists of 57 musicians who are graduates of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, the Belarusian State University of Culture, and the Minsk Music School.
Since September 2002, Viktor Babarikin has served as the principal conductor and artistic director. He is a 2008 graduate of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, Department of Opera-Symphonic Conducting.
The orchestra’s repertoire ranges from music by Muslim Magomayev to works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
