Polyhymno subaequalis
Polyhymno subaequalis is a small moth in the Gelechiidae family. It was described in 1911 by Thomas de Grey, 6th Baron Walsingham. It is found in Guerrero, Mexico. The wingspan is about 16 millimeters.
Forewings are shining bronzy brown with a broad white median stripe from the base to near the end of the wing, where it nearly meets a small white spot beneath its tip, followed by a white triangular patch before the edge. The lower corner of this pattern extends into a thin white line along the base of the wing’s fringe. The upper corner also extends toward the tip, where it meets two white lines along the leading edge that start near the base and continue past the middle, with silvery scales at their intersection. Above the angle they form are three white wedge-shaped streaks along the leading edge, each wider toward the tip. The third wedge points inward through the apical fringe and ends with two tiny black dashes in the fringe, giving a tail-like appearance. The hindwings are greyish brown.
