Dipterocarpus oblongifolius is a tree in the Dipterocarpaceae family. The name oblongifolius comes from Latin and means “oblong leaves.” It has synonyms such as Dipterocarpus pulcherrimus and Dipterocarpus stenopterus.

Description
The tree can grow up to about 30 meters tall and have a trunk up to 1.5 meters in diameter. The bark is greyish brown. The fruits are ovoid to spindle-shaped and can reach up to 3 cm long.

Distribution and habitat
Dipterocarpus oblongifolius is native to Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, and Borneo. It typically grows along river banks and can be found up to about 400 meters above sea level.

Conservation
The species is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN. It faces threats from habitat loss due to agriculture and logging. It occurs in several protected areas in Borneo, including Gunung Mulu National Park, Batang Ai National Park, and Lanjak Entimau Wildlife Sanctuary.
