Pineland, Texas
Pineland is a small city in Sabine County, Texas, United States. It covers about 2.1 square miles, with most of it being land and a little water. The city sits about 262 feet above sea level. In 2020, 888 people lived in Pineland, across 451 households and 264 families. The area has a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild to cool winters.
Pineland began in 1902 as a lumber town when a railway came through the area. A post office opened in 1904, and a sawmill started under the Garrison Norton Lumber Company. The mill later became the Temple Lumber Company. Pineland incorporated as a city in 1941.
Education is provided by the West Sabine Independent School District, and the city is home to the West Sabine High School Tigers.
