Philip M. Jarrett is an English author and aviation historian. His career began in 1971 as assistant editor of Aerospace, a Royal Aeronautical Society publication. From 1973 to 1980 he was the assistant editor of Aeroplane Monthly. He then worked at Flight International from 1980 to 1989, first as chief sub-editor and later as production editor. Since 1990 he has been a freelance author, editor, and consultant. In 2014 he was named an Honorary Companion of the Royal Aeronautical Society in recognition of his work in aviation history. His notable works include Another Icarus, Ultimate Aircraft, and The Helsinki School, where he served as editor.
