Perano is a small town in the Abruzzo region of Italy, in the province of Chieti. It covers 6 square kilometers and sits 256 meters above sea level. In 2008 it had about 1,675 residents, who are called Peranesi, with a population density of around 280 people per square kilometer. The postal code is 66040 and the area code is 0872. The town observes Central European Time (UTC+1) and daylight saving time (UTC+2 in summer). The patron saint is San Filippo Neri, celebrated on May 26. Perano includes several frazioni: Barbetti, Cerraiolo, Crocetta, Fontolfi, Impicciaturo, Maligni, Pugliesi, Quadroni, San Pastore, San Tommaso, Sciorilli, Tomassuoli, Tramozzini.
